Professorship of Childhood Education in Dual Studies (m/w/d)

For the summer semester 2026, in the dual study of the IU International University of Applied Sciences, we occupy a professorship (m/w/d) in the course of marketing management, for the first time for 2 years in full or part-time, at the beginning of 01.04.2026. You represent the field of childhood education in teaching and research in the practice-integrated bachelor's degree programme in presence at our IU campus and train the new generation of professionals together with us (more insights can be found in the module guide).

You prepare and guide lectures and are responsible for the individual support of our dual students during their examinations and during the preparation of their final work.

You are able to train our students, for example, in the following areas: child protection, special mental needs in childhood and youth, health promotion and prevention in childhood education and quantitative research methods.

You are involved in the creative development of teaching formats within the didactic concept of IU for dual study and develop this in collegial cooperation.

Mediating practical content and sharing knowledge to the next generation – this is the approach of the IU International University. A:e expert is therefore sought in the field of childhood education, which is distinguished by previous professional practice in, for example, health promotion and prevention, child protection and special mental needs in childhood and youth, and also has scientific expertise and didactic skills to bring them into teaching at the IU. You have completed a university degree in the field of childhood education, education, or a reference and neighboring discipline with outstanding achievements and can present a relevant doctorate.

You have more than five years of professional experience, of which three years outside the university and have preferably already gained experience in teaching.

You can demonstrate your expertise in relevant topics through relevant publications or projects.

You work in a team-oriented and reliable manner, in addition you focus on the teaching of presence, but you also master the performance of virtual courses.

You have German knowledge at C2 level of the European Framework of Reference.

The prerequisites for recruitment are governed by the Higher Education Act of the State of Thuringia.
