Your role You take over the development of firmware directly on the product and see the effect of your work directly in the running system – in the heart of our electron microscopes. In particular, You take over: You develop and expand functions in the firmware for signal processing and image generation of our electron microscopes.

You design and design the firmware for controlling complex microscope and electronics modules in close coordination with the hardware and software teams.

You program high-performant controls on ARM microcontrollers in C/C++ as well as on FPGA components and bring your solutions to industrial applications.

You integrate your firmware modules into the overall system and test them directly on the microscope – hands-on in the laboratory instead of just on the paper.

You analyze, debugging and optimize firmware in the laboratory environment (e.g. with JTAG, oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer) and thus provide robust, result-oriented solutions.

You create clear technical documentation for firmware functions and interfaces so that your team can efficiently build on your results.

You have a successfully completed study of computer science, electrical engineering, mechatronics or a comparable discipline. You bring passion for embedded and firmware development in the industrial, application-specific environment and want to understand and develop systems in a holistic way.

You have very good knowledge of C/C++ and experience in programming ARM microcontrollers.

Ideally, you have experience with RTOS, FPGA design and/or with the industrial use of embedded Linux systems (e.g. Raspberry Pi).

You work structured, take responsibility for your results and use your solutions in close coordination with interdisciplinary teams.

You communicate safely in English in word and writing; German knowledge is advantageous.
