Working Student Hydrology

We make port: With great passion, we keep running the infrastructure of the Port of Hamburg around the clock. We are more than 1,900 HPA colleagues who drive forward advanced ideas to develop Hamburg's heart and make the port a bit more sustainable every day.

The Hydrology unit is the contact person for all water-related issues related to the port and the Elbe. Our range of tasks includes scientifically sound hydrological advice of all kinds, for example the recommendation of hydrological dimensions and the determination of the effects of water-based measures in the Port of Hamburg on the tide regime of the Elbe. In addition, projects with hydrological reference will be consulted and guided by od he. Our core business also includes planning and carrying out hydrological measurements as well as the processing of the collected data, e.g. for shipping, construction and water management or scientific purposes.

Our heart beats for the Port of Hamburg, which connects us! You can expect varied activities from hydrology - from day-to-day work to basic determination. You can use the statistical analysis of water-kund, morphological and meteorological measurement data for hydrological questions. You support the maintenance of water-related databases. We look forward to participating in scientific evaluations on the spatial and temporal distribution of hydrologic characteristics in the Tideelbe. In addition, you work on various hydrological studies and other products. Work with numerical models and geographic information systems is also the task.

You are a student in the master's programme Water/Environmental or Civil Engineering. Your motivation and Wissbergierde for hydrological questions in the port area of Hamburg are yours. You have fun dealing with waterborne data. You can demonstrate good knowledge about MS Office. Communication strength, careful working and team skills complete your profile.
