The SOS-Kinderdorf e.V. is a renowned aid organisation and a free, non-profit institution of child and youth assistance with 38 facilities throughout the federal territory and around 5,200 employees.

As one of the most recent locations in Germany, the SOS Children's Village Essen has been active since 2016. In January 2018, the SOS Children's Village Centre in the northern district of the city established itself in addition to a youth group and several units of the residence. Early assistance, parental advice and family assistance, an open neighbourhood café, various forms of social group work for children aged 6-15 and a children's group have found their place here. The various offers were extended in August 2020 by the opening of the Kita “Knifte”. In the future, the SOS Children's Village Essen will also take responsibility for children, young people and families and will continue to grow according to existing needs.

For our SOS Children's Village Essen we are looking for a Senior Consultant (m/w/d) in full time or part-time (30 to 38.5 hours/Where)

In our youth group in the SOS Children's Village Essen, young people from 14 years old live, who for different reasons can no longer live in or with their family. Some of the young people are unaccompanied minor refugees, others have a need for educational support due to different needs or complex problems (e.g. stressful life events, overclaims of the family of origin). The aim is to clarify their life perspective together with the young people and to support them in meeting any requirements. You support and accompany young people in everyday life with pedagogical skills you implement individual goals and support concepts consistently and in accordance with requirements. You impart important everyday skills and support the young people in their self-employment. In addition, you will create a clear daily structure and offer varied group educational activities in leisure and culture. In close cooperation with parents, forerunners, youth office, schools, authorities and other cooperation partners, you provide a reliable framework of support. You offer targeted relationships within the framework of a reference support system and thus strengthen viable bonds. In addition, prepare help schedule talks carefully and actively participate pay attention to the conscientious implementation of child and care protection.

You have completed training as educators, nurses or studies of social work/social education. You enjoy working with behavioral young people and their families. You are team players and remain resilient in difficult situations. You cooperate with the regional network. They're ready to work in shiftwork.
