Safe foods – protection from contagious diseases – healthy livestock The Landesprüfungsamt (LUA) is the central state service provider in the consumer and health protection of humans and animals in Rheinland-Pfalz. Together with our around 500 employees, we work at five locations in Koblenz, Landau, Mainz, Speyer and Trier on the nationwide monitoring and investigation of food, supplies, medicines and cosmetics, diagnostics and control of animal diseases and the protection of humans from contagious diseases. We are looking at the next time a food chemist (m/w/d) to pay group 13 TV-L in parttime (95%) fixed by 31. December 2027 at the Institut für Lebensmittelchemie Koblenz (Referat 51) in the department “Foods, Needs, Cosmetics” at the office of Koblenz. (code: LUA – 2026/059-Wa).

Investigation and legal assessment of food from the product groups Bakery, Fine Bakery, Pasta, Cereal products, Fruit products, Finished dishes, Fruit spreads, jams, flavourings, additives, additives, additives from additives, vegan and vegetarian substitute products Compilation of opinions and opinions Planning and organisation of the resulting analytical and quality-proof tasks Method development, optimization and validation of test methods Leadership of laboratory staff Support for local authorities in operational controls within Rhineland-Palatinate

Successfully completed university studies in food chemistry Completion as a state-tested food chemist Experiences in the legal assessment of food and in the associated international, European and national case law are advantageous readiness and enthusiasm for analytical facts and questions Knowledge and practical experience in instrumental analysis (especially HPLC and GC-FID) and their software (e.g. Chromeleon) Experiences in method development and validation using chromatographic methods are advantageous Experiences in working under QM requirements in accredited areas (DIN EN ISO 17025) are advantageous Friendly and respectful handling of team work High level of care and responsibility Good oral and written expressiveness discretion, reliability and trustworthiness Class B driving licence and standby for the occasional operation of a service vehicle
