As an underwriting team, with our medical risk assessment, we lay the foundation stone of our insurance community and care for our customers. Together with our two sales teams, we design the future of ottonova: in the broker's area, we take care of the brokers' submissions and are available by phone. On the other hand, we speak personally with the potential customers who have passed through our signup and booked an appointment with us. In order to be accessible to both our customers and our colleagues as contact persons and to give us flexibility in the planning of our everyday life, we organize our working days in layers. Become a Senior Underwriting Manager (m/w/d) part of the medical risk assessment team in Munich or Cologne. DEIN ECONOMIC AREA As Senior Underwriting Manager (m/w/d) in the medical risk assessment at ottonova, you are the focal point of our application examination and risk analysis:

Stock business: You take (risk-relevant) audits in stock business, e.g. in case of collective agreements, child insurance, or in case of pre-contractual ad breach In case of suspicion of a pre-contractual ad obligation violation, you, together with colleagues from the Claims Department, assess the facts and initiate all necessary steps

Further development & optimization: You actively shape our underwriting policies and make sure that internal requirements match the current legal and medical developments. You support making our processes even better and focus on our customers

Interface work & knowledge transfer: You work closely with our sales, actuariate and legal department experts to find holistic solutions for ottonova and our customers As an expert for the medical risk assessment, you can help your team, colleagues from the partner departments and our customers as an expert contact person and Sparringspartner to optimally support the knowledge transfer

New application & brokerage: If necessary, you will support the team in the new application and broker business in the examination of health information – also by telephone – and the medical risk analysis including the vote or final decision to accept or reject it

The basis of your profile is a completed training in insurance, e.g. as a merchant for insurance and finance. You have several years of experience in risk assessment, ideally in private health insurance or life insurance, so you also have medical knowledge and a sense of risk related topics and relationships You have detectable experience with the insurance contract law, in particular § 19 VVG (disclosure obligation) You have pronounced analytical skills, a careful way of working and have a quick understanding of complex processes and programs You like to work independently, are open-minded and motivated to take responsibility – you always keep the customer and the company in mind You complete your profile with knowledge of German and English (min. C1).
