Research Assistant - Vibrations of Wind Energy Towers (m/f/d)

The Center for Wind Power Drives explores the behaviour of drive systems in modern multimegawatt wind turbines (WEA). Research objectives are to increase the availability and energy efficiency of wind energy. The growth of the rotor diameter is the decisive driver in the development of wind power plants. As a result, the towers also have to grow further, with these already being one of the most expensive components of a plant. Hub heights of 175 m are today series, towers for hub heights of 200 m+ are in development. The interaction between turbulent wind and the plant continues to increase, as a result of which previously unrealistic vibrations at the towers are observed, which impede further size growth. The RWTH is certified as a family-friendly university. RWTH offers a variety of health, counselling and prevention services (e.g. university sports) as part of a university health management. There is a wide range of training and the possibility of obtaining a job ticket for employees and civil servants.

The employment is in the employment relationship. The place shall be occupied at the next possible time and shall be limited to two years. An extension of at least 1 year is planned, and a further 2 years are planned. The temporary employment is carried out within the framework of the time-limits of the science-time contract law.
