The SOS Children's Village Schwerin offers children and adolescents, as well as their families and relatives different offers of assistance in the field of education. In Schwerin we are active in the field of outpatient and stationary aid for education.

At the SOS-Kinderdorf Schwerin we are looking for a Senior Consultant (m/w/d) in permanent employment, full-time or part-time (min. 25 - max. 38.5 hours/Where.) Your task: In the spring of 2026 we open a new children's group in the Lankow district for eight children aged 4 to 14 years, who need a protected place, reliable relationships and loving accompaniment. As a teammate, you are part of this process from the outset: Together with seven colleagues, You build up the structures of the housing group, actively shape the educational orientation and shape an everyday life that conveys stability, orientation and warmth. Your tasks include: educational support and support of children in everyday life and the creation of a safe, stable and development-promoting environment sensitive monitoring of children and targeted promotion of their emotional development, self-perception and social skills Support in conflict and crisis situations where you give guidance to children, deescalate and develop appropriate solutions and behaviour strategies together Planning and implementation of varied leisure, play and group offers that enable joy, participation, security and personal development close and appreciative cooperation with the children's origin systems and with external departments active participation in the team, e.g. in team meetings, case counselling, supervision and training With design and further development of the pedagogical concept of the housing group Cooperation with the Youth Office as part of the aid plan process Documentation of pedagogical work and preparation of reports in electronic case files conscientious implementation of child and care protection as well as a professional approach to proximity and distance

Your qualifications and skills: a completed educational training as a state-approved educator*in or nurse well-founded educational knowledge and empathy for children with stressful or traumatic life experiences good observation, emotional presence and a high ability to self-reflection a solution- and resource-oriented way of working that focuses on children's strengths an appreciation, respectful and professional attitude towards children, their systems of origin and colleagues Joy of teamwork, reliability and the willingness to introduce your own ideas creatively into the group everyday readiness to work in the 3-shift system and the conviction that this working form allows intensive relationship work good communication skills, in particular in contact with parents, caregivers and external specialists ideally knowledge of child protection, traumatic education or systemic work – or the willingness to continue in these areas
