Program Manager Value Chain Optimization (Bio & Conventional Fuels) (m/f/d)

Program Manager (m/w/d) Hours: Full time, 40 hours Location: Hamburg, Germany Type of contract: unlimited VAROPreem builds integrated end-to-end optimization capacities along the value chain to optimally match conventional and sustainable fuels across locations and markets. To successfully implement this transformation, we are looking for you as a Program Manager (m/w/d) Value Chain Optimization (bio & conventional fuels). In this role, you set up structured planning processes, governance frameworks and LP-based optimization tools (Linear Programming) and implement them sustainably in the company. It is a fixed-term, result-oriented role with a clear mandate: you develop viable optimization capabilities, operationalize them and ensure a structured transfer to the regular operation (business-as-usual). The programme is designed for a duration of approximately 18–24 months. During this time, you work with Manufacturing, Supply, Trading, Logistics and Commercial. For alignment, you drive the tools forward and ensure their sustainable anchoring. The intensive integration along the entire value chain provides a strong basis for further development within VAROPreem.

Total Responsibility for End-to-End Building of the Value Chain Optimization Program Definition of Scope, Milestones, Deliverables and Dependencies between Workstreams Control of timetables, risks and cross-departmental coordination Conception and implementation of integrated end-to-end planning processes along the value chain Coordination of the planning of bio and conventional fuels across locations and markets Building clear governance structures, decision frameworks and a defined planning task Coordination of design and implementation of LP-based planning and optimization models Translation of business requirements in functional specifications Interface function between departments, optimization experts, IT and external service providers Ensuring stakeholder engagement and sustainable acceptance through workshops and structured communication Establishing documentation, playbooks and standard operating procedures Structured handover to future business owners and definition of mechanisms for continuous improvement

Multiannual experience in project or program management in complex, cross-functional environments Understanding value chains, planning or optimization in the energy, raw materials or industrial environment Experience with planning tools and LP-based models (Linear Programming) is a clear advantage Detectable experience in building new processes and governance structures Ability to act safely with senior stakeholders and to create alignment across functions and countries Structured, analytical and highly conversion-oriented mode of operation Impressed communication strength and the ability to translate technical content into an understandable business language High level of ownership and resilience in transformation fields German and English knowledge in word and writing Further knowledge Experience with manufacturing, supply, trading or logistics processes in energy markets Understanding optimization methods and LP modeling principles (Linear Programming) Change Management Experience and Business Adoption Initiatives Contact points with sustainable fuels and integrated energy value chains Knowledge in the design of governance structures as well as in structured transfer concepts in the operational operation of sustainable fuels and integrated energy value chains Knowledge of governance design and operational handover frameworks
