Job Description Summary

The Position Cost Accounting Manager supports the BD Integrated Diagnostics Solutions business unit in the area of finance/booking. This includes financial support and monitoring of the production facility in Heidelberg as well as a key role in defining and achieving financial objectives and the formulation and implementation of operating strategies.

The role is responsible for maintaining accounting and reporting processes that lead to accurate product costs and production performance. In addition, the role is responsible for all activities related to budget coordination, quarterly forecasts, monthly accounts and reporting. It shall ensure that the product stocks and production assets are adequately secured and financial reporting takes place. In the position you will occasionally work with global marketing, research & development and other general and administrative functions.

As a cost accounting manager, you can advance changes if necessary to ensure compliance with GAAP/SOX. You examine and provide recommendations for continuous improvements and communicate relevant financial information clearly to the management.

Main tasks: Overview of the entire planning, reporting and analysis of budget, forecasts and expenditure deviations (possibility, etc.) Financial conclusion at the end of the month Cooperation with the production manager and the factory management team to optimise financial-related operating decisions, to comply with financial objectives, to introduce the necessary process compliance and to protect the company Providing financial advice and analysis to support capital projects Assessment of inventory cycle counts and ensuring compliance with financial policy Providing continuous financial improvement through work analysis, analysis of gross profit, stock analysis, analysis of new products and discontinued models, and expenditure analysis Support for internal and external auditors when regularly reviewing BD Diagnostic Systems’ financial documents. You are responsible for implementing the agreed recommendations resulting from the audit results for the respective areas of responsibility.

About you: A Bachelor degree in Accounting (or equivalent degree), a CPA, MBA or CMA is required. You should have knowledge of cost accounting, general accounting and finance (including experience in product costing, production deviations and inventory control) You are able to take on more and more responsibility, to communicate safely at all hierarchical levels and to guide cross-functional teams Ability to improve controls and influence decisions through accounting knowledge and data-based financial analyses Advanced Excel skills are required ERP experience is required; in particular SAP experience is advantageous Very good language skills in English and German

Level for position: 85,000 - 105,000 EUR
