Librarian Stuttgart City Library - Literature (m/w/d)

We are looking for the Cultural Office of the City of Stuttgart, Department of the City Library. As of 01.01.2026, the body is to be occupied in part-time (50 %) and until 31.08.2026. An extension of the time limit and subsequent permanent takeover will be sought. The collections of the literary level of the city library on the Milan Square are divided into the following areas: novels with crisp, science fiction, fantasy, and youth novels, special areas of fiction, literature history, audiobooks and the Stuttgart literature scene. As part of the collaboration in the literature lectureship, you are responsible for the visualization and acquisition of literary novelties, hybrid inventory management and the development of acquisition proposals for the district libraries within the framework of the central legislature organization You undertake regular information and counselling services Your tasks include accompanying literary life through presentations and media tips You actively contribute to the conception of the level of literature You will also take classes and events Cooperation with thematic, cross-level working groups completes your task A change or addition of the task area is reserved.

A degree as a Diploma Library or as a Bachelor or Master in Library and Information Management A well-founded literary and literary knowledge, interest in all genres of level literature and good knowledge of catalogue work Secure computer skills, including in the MS Office programs, strong media competence and good knowledge in library processes (especially aDIS) or the willingness to work into them Feeling for literary quality, also off the mainstream Conceptual skills, in particular with regard to new offers Communication strength, service orientation as well as the readiness to regular late and Saturday services
