The Clinic for Orthodontic Surgery (Command Director: Ms. Dr. med. L. Cohrs) has 20 plan beds, in which approximately 1000 patients are treated in a stationary manner each year. The operating spectrum covers the entire area of oral and facial surgery.

The department's key is currently 1 - 3 - 7 . There is a fixed concept for continuing training, which is based on the training regulations. For this purpose, the assistant regularly has to present his surgical catalog and a fixed rotation takes place between the clinic and the station. This allows the interns to learn all the necessary procedures and to have carried out themselves until the medical certificate is completed.

• The clinic has the necessary infrastructure to carry out clinical and experimental basic research through its connection to the various clinics and institutes of the University of Lübeck. The personal commitment in this area is actively supported.

• A focus of the clinic lies in oncological care and in the corresponding restoration surgery. Microsurgical tissue transfer of soft parts and bones are routine and take place in a high frequency.

• Implementation of outpatient oral and dermato-surgical procedures in the polyclinic

• Preprosthetic surgery and implantology take a special position in our clinic and are operated at a high level by a regulated office hours.

• The full competence for further training for oral, jaw and facial surgery and for the additional name “Plastic Operations”.
