Head of the Construction and Infrastructure Department (m/f/d)

Responsible management and motivating management of the department taking into account effective and efficient personnel, organisational and household management according to the goals of the city Proactive and strategic development of the department on the basis of objective, legal and political requirements, including a continuous optimization of existing processes Target-oriented and value-assuring leadership of employees of the department Representation of the department internally and externally, including specialist committee work Confidential and responsible cooperation with the mayor, politics, other disciplines and other stakeholders

Completed academic studies (Master/Diplom) of the disciplines Construction, Architecture, Civil Engineering or Competence to the higher technical service in a field with construction reference Multiannual professional experience in the environment of the public service and sound knowledge in the field of construction Multiannual leadership experience preferred in public service Knowledge in a further subject area of the aforementioned specialist services and project management would be desirable Legal and technical knowledge in administrative law and in particular in building law and contract law Ideally experience in cooperation with communicative policy officials, bodies and specialist committees Safe handling of MS Office applications Very good German language skills (at least proven level C1 of the Common European Framework for Languages) driving licence class B Ability to initialize changes and implement projects efficiently and based on results Empathic, value-assuring and targeted leadership style Strength of decision, persuasiveness and enforcement Analytical thinking, conceptual skills and problem-solving competence Embossed negotiation and communication skills Ability to convincingly represent the interests of the city to citizens, the economy and other external actors High commitment including willingness to complete the service also outside the regular working hours, especially in the evening hours and weekends
