We are looking for one/one: IT system administrator / Senior Consultant (m/w/d) You work in a team of six employees in a central service unit of the institute.

Support and perspective representation of the IT leadership Administration, maintenance and development of Linux-based systems Ensuring daily IT operations and taking over Linux support Planning, optimization and redesign of existing storage infrastructure Cooperation in the development of network architecture Development and maintenance of server applications and automation and scripting solutions Interface function between IT, administration and public relations (PR) Documentation and continuous improvement of IT processes

Very good knowledge in handling Linux operating systems Experience gained in system administration and IT support Programming skills in current, common languages (e.g. Python, Bash, possibly more) Experience in server programming and scripting Knowledge of network architectures and technologies Experience with storage systems and their design/optimization Ideally knowledge in handling mail servers, especially postfix Ability to communicate complex technical facts in a comprehensible way Structured, independent and solution-oriented mode of operation Teamability and strong communication strength Interest in developing IT infrastructure and networks Willingness to take responsibility and to take a lead in perspective
