Educator as stand-in for all-day school care in after-school care (m/f/d)

The SOS-Kinderdorf e.V. The SOS-Kinderdorf e.V. is a renowned aid organisation and a free, non-profit institution of child and youth assistance with 38 facilities throughout the federal territory and around 5,200 employees.

The SOS Children's Village in Berlin supports and accompanies families, children and youth for more than 30 years with diverse, differentiated offers. From the approach of networking and systemic perspectives, we are established in several locations in the capital – from Hellersdorf to Reinickendorf and Mitte to Spandau – with our offers on site in the social areas: these include child and family aid (SOS children's village families and housing groups, educational and family advice, family and district centers, family education, children's day care, multi-generation home), school-based assistance and training projects.

At the SOS Children's Village Berlin we are looking for a Senior Consultant (m/w/d) in parttime (min. 27 - max. 30 h/w) Your task: In our supplementary support and support (eFöB) at the Theodor-Heuss community school, we accompany children of classes 1 to 6 in their extra-teaching period. Together we create a place where children can play, discover, learn and experience community. Our multi-professional team works with commitment, creativity and mutual appreciation to provide every child with a safe, reliable and inspiring living and learning space. As a Springer*in, you play a particularly valuable role: with your flexibility, pedagogical skills and open personality, you will ensure that children are accompanied continuously in representation situations and feel safe and well-resolved at any time. Their tasks include:You take over flexible representations in different groups of hortists and support our pedagogical teams in case of personal outages or special needs. You accompany and serve the children in the open all-day area and actively organize their afternoons – from lunch together to homework care to creative, sports and free-time educational offers. You promote the children individually in their social, emotional and school development and align their educational activities with the Berlin educational programme. You develop diverse educational, play, movement and leisure opportunities that are oriented towards the interests and needs of the children and strengthen their self-employment and creativity. During the holidays, you will work together with the team to create exciting holiday programs that enable children to experience a variety of experiences and beautiful community experiences. With your open, empathic and esteeming way, you quickly build sustainable relationships with children, parents and colleagues and create an atmosphere of trust and security. You document educational processes responsibly and work closely with the respective group teams. You actively participate in team meetings, case meetings, supervisions and team development processes and support the continuous development of our pedagogical work. You are responsibly implementing the requirements of child and care protection and actively helping to create a safe, protected and value-adding environment for all children. Their regular working time is mainly between 10:00 and 16:30. We require the willingness to take over a late service until 18:00.

Your qualifications and skills: You have a successfully completed training as a state-approved educator*in or a comparable recognised educational qualification. Ideally, you will have experience in full-time school care, in the hort or in the pedagogical work with children in primary school age. You are characterized by a high degree of flexibility and can quickly and safely adapt to different groups, teams and changing educational situations. You meet children with appreciation, empathy and respect and create an atmosphere in which You feel confident, accepted and strengthened in their personality. You have creativity, pedagogical skills and inventiveness to make educational, play and leisure activities varied, child-friendly and development-friendly. The individual promotion and support of children is at your heart. You recognize their strengths, seize their interests and support them in their social, emotional and educational development. Team skills, willingness to cooperate and value-adding communication are of course for you. You like to work in multi-professional teams and contribute to a trusting relationship. You work independently, reliably and structured. Also in challenging situations, you act in vain, solution-oriented and professional. You have a reflected understanding of professional proximity and distance and shape relationships with children responsibly and reliably.
