Your opportunity As Teamlead of Project Estimation & Project Cost Controlling EMEA and take responsibility for consistent cost management across the entire project lifecycle – from bid estimation through project execution to completion. In this key leadership role, you will ensure reliable and competitive cost estimates, high-quality forecasts and transparency across our project portfolio. At the same time, you will further develop common standards, processes and tools, strengthen the collaboration between Estimation and Project Cost Controlling and shaping the ongoing transformation and professionalization of the function.
Your Role Lead and develop the Project Estimation & Project Cost Controlling organization, including disciplinary and functional leadership, coaching and performance management. Build and further develop an integrated end-to-end connecting cost estimation during the bid phase with project cost controlling project execution. Ensure competitive, realistic and reliable cost estimates and drive consistent standards for cost assumptions, method calculationology and documentation. Support Sales, Bid Management and project organizations in violation relevant decisions during the bidding process. Take responsibility for cost controlling across the project portfolio, including forecasting, cost-at-completion, variance analysis and management reporting. Ensure high forecast quality and transparency project costs, risks and opportunities and provide reliable steering information for Project Management, Commercial Project Management and senior management. Harmonize and continuously improve methods, KPIs, templates, processes and digital tools across the organization. Establish consistent cost management processes across bid and execution phases and foster knowledge systematic transfer through best practices and lessons learned. Drive data-based decision-making and active contribute to the ongoing transformation and continuous improvement of the function. Champion digitalization and automation initiatives within the commercial function by leveraging AI-driven solutions, robotic process automation (RPA) or other advanced digital tools to improve productivity, transparency and decision-making.
Your profile Successfully completed degree in business administration, industrial engineering or a comparable qualification. Several years of relevant professional experience in Cost Estimation, Project Cost Controlling, Project Controls or Project Finance, ideally within a technology-driven industrial, planning engineering, energy, infrastructure or EPC environment. Proven experience in estimating and managing the costs of complex international projects across different stages of the project lifecycle. Strong understanding of cost estimation methodologies, project controlling, forecasting as well as cost and risk management. Demonstrated experience in establishing and further developing standards, processes, KPIs and management reporting structures. Strong affinity for digital technologies, process automation and data-driven decision making, with a particular interest in applying Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and other digital solutions to transform commercial processes. Several years of leadership experience and a proven ability to develop employees and teams, ideally within an international matrix organization. Sound knowledge of SAP as well as relevant estimation, controlling and reporting tools. Strong analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to structure complex topics and translate them into clear, decision-relevant information for different management levels. Strong ownership and entrepreneurial mindset combined with the ability to drive change and continuous improvement organizations and processes. High level of commercial awareness, affinity for numbers and a strong commitment to quality and reliability. Confident in working with international stakeholders and across functions, combined with strong intercultural communication skills. Business-fluent English; additional languages are at advantage.
