The medical field of the clinic and the Polyclinic for children and youth psychiatry and psychotherapy is concerned with the diagnosis, therapy and prevention of mental and psychosomatic diseases in children, young people and adults. The patients are at the centre of the project and are treated specifically by a qualified, cross-disciplinary team. The clinic has, according to its clinical focus, a closed acute receiving station, an open psychotherapy station, a special stop for eating disorders, a special stop for tic and forced disorders, a daily clinic for young people, a family day clinic for children up to 11 years, and a family day clinic for children and teenagers with a total of 40 stationary and 20 day clinics, as well as an institute clinic. In the project "Social interaction in autism-spectrum-staffs in school age: gender differences in dyadic peer interaction (synchronicity, gaze behavior and proxemics) in cooperative and competitive contexts" it is the objective to systematically investigate mutual interaction processes in dyadical peer interaction in children with autism-spectrum-staff (ASS). The focus is on synchronicity (inter- and intra-personal), visual behavior and proxemics (distance and orientation behavior in space) as objective, standardized indicators of social interaction. These indicators are examined as a function of diagnosis (ASS vs. neurotypical comparison group) and gender and analysed in terms of their context dependence in interaction. To this end, dyadic interactions in co-operative versus competitive context conditions are compared to check to what extent interaction patterns systematically change depending on the context. The interaction processes are detected by means of the motion tracking system Kinect. The project is funded by the Hans and Ria Messer Foundation. .
