Senior Physician Cardiac Surgery / Thoracic Vascular Surgery (m/f/d)

The heart and thoracic vascular surgery clinic has two conventional surgery rooms and a hybrid surgery. Postoperative treatments take place in an anesthesiological intensive care unit. The further supply is then carried out on the normal heart surgical station.

Up to 1000 heart surgery procedures are carried out annually in the clinic. The surgical spectrum of the clinic includes the entire adult heart surgery, with the exception of heart transplants. thoracic aortic pathologies as well as all cardiovascular and pulmonary emergencies are supplied. Bypass operations are carried out minimally invasively and by default without a heart-lung machine on the beating heart, in suitable patients also as a hybrid procedure. In addition, there is a high level of expertise in minimally invasive surgical techniques for heart valve interventions and in all repair techniques of heart valves, as well as catheter-assisted interventions (including TAVI, TEVAR). The ROSS operation has a long tradition in Lübeck and is carried out regularly.

Another focus of the clinic is the artificial heart implantation in patients with high-grade heart failure. As part of the university's heart team, there is a close cooperation with colleagues from the Medical Clinic II, Clinic for Rhythmology, as well as the Clinic for Anesthesiology and Intensive Medicine. In addition, complex pathologies of the main impactor in the university vascular centre are supplied interdisciplinary.

• You are a specialist in cardiac surgery and have extensive clinical experience in the field of surgical care of heart-surgical patients (ideally in the care of heart-sufficiency patients)

• A completed doctorate and interest in cooperation in a university environment

• Ideally experience in supplying heart-sufficiency patients (art heart and transplant patients)

• Expertise in minimally invasive surgical procedures (TAVI, MIC LFS), minimally invasive counting and in the field of the OPCAB method are desirable
