Senior Consultant Foreign Security (focus: Africa) – limited to 24 months (m/f/d)

You independently assess security situations for African space and evaluate information from different sources and make them understandable for internal decision-making processes. You create and update security layer images continuously and take over the first reaction with a clear assessment if necessary. You plan and conduct Site Security Assessments and develop site security concepts including, if applicable, Evacuation planning on site. As an expert in emergency management abroad, you act as an emergency response within the framework of emergency measures for the prevention of risks, rescue and care of affected persons and advise the KfW crisis team. You conduct official-related briefings, send/return talks and training and advise employees, executives and office management on security issues.

Completed studies (e.g. regional sciences, social/sciences, security and protection) or comparable qualifications. Multiannual relevant professional experience, ideally in Africa (e.g. East, West and Central Africa), as well as in crisis management from own operations in crisis regions. Expert knowledge about security networks and a sound understanding of how authorities and actors work in different contexts – incl. Reference to development cooperation. Very good language skills in German (safe for negotiation), English (min. C1) and French (min. B2) as well as sovereign communication across hierarchical levels. Extensive analytical capacity and judgement strength, strong intercultural competence as well as social competence, high communication and cooperation characteristics as well as the readiness for global operations, Africa (including readiness to call 24/7).
