HITS.NRW is a newly established, central IT service provider for public universities in North Rhine-Westphalia.

IT Specialist (m/w/d) Location: Hybrid (Düsseldorf, NRW, Germany) | Contract: unlimited | Working time: full time

You accompany the acquisition and professional evaluation of IT solutions – from software and cloud services to IT hardware and infrastructure to IT services. You take up the IT requirements of universities, structure them and translate them together with specialists into clear requirements and performance descriptions. For market information as well as provider and solution talks, you bring your technical understanding and evaluate offers based on comprehensible criteria. Together with IT, Purchasing, Law and the universities, you will prepare documents for IT tenders, valuation matrices and offer comparisons. You actively shape the development of the central IT procurement function and develop processes and standards together with the team. For research, documentation and work designs, you use digital and AI-based tools responsibly.

Complete university studies, e.g. (economic) informatics, business management or administrative sciences, a comparable qualification or relevant practical experience First professional experience in IT purchasing, IT procurement, IT product or project management, license management or IT consulting Technical understanding and interest in software, cloud, license, subscription and operating models Knowledge of public purchasing, IT alerts or university and public IT environments are advantageous Analytical thinking as well as a structured, independent and reliable operation Open and binding communication and joy in cooperation with different disciplines and stakeholders
