Train traffic controller training 2026 (m/f/d)

As of September 1, 2026, we are looking for you for the 3-year training as a railway operator: in the train traffic control (w/m/d) for DB InfraGO AG at the Karlsruhe site. The vocational school (Albert-Einstein-Schule) is located in Ettlingen near Karlsruhe and is a few minutes walk from the S-Bahn stop Ettlingen Erbprinz/Schloss. The training center is located in Karlsruhe and Mannheim, but you also visit seminars in Germany. You work in the middle of what is happening – in a so-called “electronic setting”. Here you control the train traffic in the region with the help of the most modern technology. On several screens you follow live where the trains are located and make sure You arrive safely and on time. For example, you decide when to drive, hold or overtake a train. To do this, you set switches and signals by mouse click. In addition, you will be in direct contact with the locomotives via radio: inside and give them important information. In your team with around 40 colleagues, you contribute to the safe and smooth running of rail traffic every day. This is what you expect in your training: Your colleagues will show you step-by-step how to use the technology correctly in a control unit You learn when you need to press the right buttons and buttons to switch for example signals (lights) or switches (crosses for a track change) With the other employees: inside the train control and the control points as well as the driver: you are often in contact with them You are an important part of our team and allow our passengers a safe and punctual ride with our trains
