We make port: With great passion, we keep running the infrastructure of the Port of Hamburg around the clock. We are more than 1,900 HPA colleagues who drive forward advanced ideas to develop Hamburg's heart and make the port a bit more sustainable every day.

The ‘RI31’ unit defines the technical objectives of the Railway Infrastructure division from an economic point of view. It analyses data, forecasts and framework conditions around the mode of transport. Its aim is to develop powerful, future-oriented network structures for optimal use of the port railway.

Our heart beats for the Port of Hamburg, which connects us! You take responsibility for the organizational unit railway development and run a four-member team professionally and personally. In addition, you will ensure the coordination between port railway development, port strategy and urban transport policy. You develop guidelines for positioning the port system and secure capacity in freight transport. Based on data analysis, traffic forecasts and studies, you design an economical and efficient network design. In addition, you will work out the master plan “Bahn” and represent the harbour railway concerns in higher-level planning processes. You control feasibility and demand analyses as well as infrastructure and operating concepts and develop policy-based decision-making. Present at fairs, events or guided tours You are building the harbor railway in public – and develop lobbying concepts in coordination with marketing and communication.

You have a completed master's or diploma degree in construction, transport or logistics or a comparable discipline. In addition, you will bring comprehensive knowledge of rail transport, port logistics, transport development, railway construction and railway operations. You know the planning phases and the operation of complex infrastructure and transport projects. You are familiar with web-specific IT systems, the procurement law (HOAI) and EU-wide alerts. You convince with leadership, economic understanding and political sensitivity. In addition, you analyze complex traffic relations securely and represent the port railway competently in the public.
