What we plan together: Our area Supply Chain Management (SCM) Trade Germany looks at the complete supply chain for REWE & Penny in Germany. From shopping to logistics and sales to cash. Among other things, we encounter challenges through the different temperature zones of our products and the multi-stage nature of our logistics network. Our common goal is to optimize the overall process and thereby achieve higher customer satisfaction. The Team Network Management assumes the strategic and tactical responsibility for network planning and network/reference route control.

As a Supply Chain Engineer (m/w/d), you focus on the planning and optimization of our logistics network and make an active contribution to the continuous development of our supply chain. Your goal is the sustainable improvement of costs, service and resource use along our supply chain.

What you do with us: You design and guide (part-)projects on the further development of our trade Germany network structures and supply chains. You take responsibility for the development of our network planning software – from data architecture to mathematical optimization and simulation. You ensure that data solutions are built up reliably, precisely and sustainably and that You provide sound insights for decision-making. You create modern data workflows that support processes and tools for efficient planning and control of our network. You optimise and plan the structure of our network and interact with our internal stakeholders and external experts. In addition to the strategic perspective, you also have a look at the needs of the operatives and actively integrate them into the development.

You have a master's degree in a quantitative field such as (economic) mathematics, (economic) informatics, economic engineering or statistics. You have strong programming knowledge in Python as well as experience in handling data analysis and visualization libraries (e.g. Pandas or Polars) and version management with Git. You have a well-founded knowledge of analytical databases, data management and the independent setup and deployment of data pipelines. You have practical experience in the development and application of mathematical optimization methods (e.g. linear and integral optimization, heuristic procedures) to solve logistical problems. You will ideally bring experience from an SCM/project department, the trading industry or a promotion in a relevant area. You like to work in the team and quickly connect with your colleagues in your interface areas. You have a distinct structured and analytical mindset and have fun in complex issues. You work independently and practice-oriented and bring a strong communication skills as well as fluent German knowledge and good English knowledge in word and writing.
