Experimental characterization of highly dynamic material behavior of the latest steels, including plasticity, failure and breakage Further development of phenomenological material laws to describe dynamic material characteristics and programming in user material data Subroutines (UMAT) Development of physical descriptions of the above-mentioned characteristics by means of the method of crystal plasticity and its integration in UMAT Development of understanding of the so-called deformation-induced martensite transformations in Gen. III steels and their effects on the forming and crash properties Material analysis using microscopic investigations such as XRD and REM Further development of experimental technology Planning, implementation and evaluation of material and components tests on static and dynamic test benches Participation in industrial projects in the field of crash calculations, experiments and structural design Teaching obligation: 4 semester weeks

Good / very good completed academic studies (Diplom TU/Master) in the field of mechanical engineering, materials engineering, material science or manufacturing technology Good knowledge of steel materials, their phase transformations and properties Good knowledge of methods of material characterization and microstructure analysis Experience in numerical simulation (e.g. LS-Dyna) Programming experience with MATLAB/Python or FORTRAN is also desirable Basic knowledge of CAD is advantageous Very good knowledge of German and English Self-employed and structured work High performance and communication and organisational capability
