President (m/f/d)

As President (w/m/d), you have the overall responsibility for the strategic development of the Technical University of Augsburg in a prominent position. Your core tasks include: Further development and communication of the university strategy, including with regard to profile formation, positioning, framework agreement and development planning Translation of strategic objectives into operational target agreements with the organisational units to ensure competitiveness and sustainability in teaching, research, transfer, training and administration Representation of the university to the outside as well as the establishment and maintenance of strategic partnerships and positioning of the university in scientific and high-level political networks Visibility of the university as an innovative designer at regional, national and international level In line with the strategic objectives: strengthening the entrepreneurial spirit, consistently driving the digital transformation, internationalisation and performance culture, and further anchoring sustainability and equality Head of Department for Scientific Staff at the University and for Chancellor The legal status and duties of the President (w/m/d) are in Art. 31 of the Bavarian Higher Education Act.

You can be appointed as President (w/m/d) if you are a professor (w/m/d) or have a completed university education, and if you are expecting the duties of the Office due to a professional activity responsible for several years, in particular in science, art, business, administration or legal care. In addition, take the following steps: You are a powerful, integrating and networking personality with many years of leadership experience You have very good knowledge of the national and international scientific system and of the (Bavarian) higher education policy You have the ability to design the further development of the university constructively with bodies, faculties and administration in order to sustainably secure the regional, national and international positioning of the Technical University of Augsburg with its innovative teaching, research and transfer facilities You promote scientific excellence in connection with social responsibility You have the talent, enthusiasm and orientation for the further development and success of the university and to inspire and mobilise the university community You act as a motivator and designer (w/m/d) of a modern university culture and actively contribute your expertise in change management as well as your positive perspective of change and further development You are a highly motivated and, at the same time, decision-making leader who has outstanding communication, cooperation and integration capabilities, thinks strategically and entrepreneurially and is capable of conflicting. You are profiled by a sovereign, winning and binding occurrence, negotiation skills, negotiation-proof knowledge of English as well as the willingness to continue continuous qualification You show presence on the campus and actively contribute to the university community

The President (w/m/d) is elected by the University Council of the Technical University of Augsburg and proposed to the Minister of State for Science and Art for appointment. As President (w/m/d), you will be appointed as an officer at the time (w/m/d) in grade W3 + allowance or, if you are not already a professor (w/m/d) before the appointment, you will be employed at a university of the Free State of Bavaria in a temporary private service relationship. The term of office shall be in accordance with § 2 para. 2 the foundation of the Technical University of Augsburg for ten semesters, including the semester in which the employment becomes effective. Re-election is possible.
