System Engineer/Ship Technician HVAC – Yacht Building (m/f/d)

In this role, design, dimension and integrate complex air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration systems for unique mega yachts according to project requirements, comfort standards and class regulations. In doing so, you will issue HVAC systems according to your needs and create the corresponding turn key request and order specifications – from Air Handling Units and Chillers to Ducting, Exhaust, Fresh Air and ER ventilation. For the subsequent implementation, create and check 2D and 3D layouts, schematics, piece lists as well as technical specifications and coordinate relevant interfaces with participating structures. In supplier management, select and evaluate international suppliers, coordinate technical details with them and check calculations, drawings, manuals, risk analyses and certificate documents. During the construction phase, you keep the course: you support manufacturing and quality control, clarify technical topics and work with shipyard visits and decreases. Whether FAT, HAT or SAT: You accompany the commissioning and testing of the systems, take over troubleshooting and optimizations and pay attention to compliance with relevant requirements such as SOLAS, MARPOL, ISO standards and class regulations throughout all phases of the project. As an expert contact person, you can help owners, flag state and classification societies with technical questions and ensure a reliable coordination of all relevant issues.

Complete studies in ship technology, supply technology, mechanical engineering, building technology or a comparable qualification Multiannual professional practice in HVAC engineering, ideally in the yacht, ship or offshore sector as well as experience in dealing with classification societies Knowledge of thermodynamic calculations, air quantity and pressure loss calculations and the design of refrigeration performance Safe handling of CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Cadmatic or Rhino and MS Office Very good communication skills, especially in the international context, very safe English knowledge in word and writing as well as willingness to occasional service trips to suppliers and test assignments Team spirit and high sense of responsibility, strong willingness to perform and a structured and solution-oriented way of working
