Digital sovereignty for art colleges is a joint project of the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart, the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Karlsruhe and the Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe. The aim of the project, supported by the Innovation Foundation in higher education, is to develop and develop a digital teaching infrastructure based on the principles of sovereignty, openness, fatigue and sustainability in the context of artistic practice. Digital sovereignty means the ability of the institutions to allow all university members to use digital technologies in a self-determined, reflected and safe manner. The development of the digital infrastructure is therefore linked to a teaching and training programme for the development of a culture of data sovereignty and digital tiredness, which is aimed at the entire Higher Education Community. Subject to the final funding approval, the three art colleges have to occupy positions for the multi-level studio digital sovereignty in the areas of project coordination, digital curation, IT architecture, IT infrastructure and software. For the team at ABK Stuttgart we are looking for an at the earliest 01.10.2025 IT Architectin (d/w/m) Parttime 50 %, EC 13 TV-L The employment is limited until 30.09.2029. In the case of a successful interim evaluation of the project, the funding and contract term can be renewed by two years.

Planning, design, definition, integration and evaluation of IT services and infrastructures Analysis of workflows of universities and implementation in digital processes Checking the feasibility of new solutions, developing concepts for the digital transformation process Communication with software developers and IT system administrators, the Digital Council and the other IT architects Project management for software development projects, including procurement procedures, ensuring the quality and viability of the code Conception of interfaces between systems and databases Working on the design and implementation of a digital strategy for each partner institution, based on the principles of sovereignty, openness, fatigue and sustainability

completed university studies of a relevant study programme in the field of computer science, the digital humanities or a discipline of spiritual or art with proven interest in the respective other fields Experience in web-based software development and system architecture very good knowledge of current web technologies and frameworks (experiences in MariaDB and PostgreSQL of advantage) Experience in developing OpenSource projects of advantage Experiences with CMS, insbes. WordPress, with focus on APIs and extensions of advantage Experience in the field of project management of software/infrastructural projects, preferably in the high school context or in the field of research data management Experience in the design and implementation of needs and resources analyses as well as in agile work Willingness to participate in workshops and travel (especially between Karlsruhe and Stuttgart) Pleasure of teamwork and independent, structured, cooperative and solution-oriented working style Communication strength and interest in different cultures and in regular exchange with the university communities excellent knowledge of German and good knowledge of English
