We are looking at the city of Ulm for 01.08.2027 an headin for the music school of the city of Ulm (m/w/d) Full-time, unlimited The university town of Ulm with around 130,000 inhabitants combines urban life with a diverse cultural offering and high leisure value. The music school of the city of Ulm is an established educational institution with around 2,700 students and nearly 100 teachers. At two large school-based locations as well as at numerous general education schools and daycare centres throughout the city, she actively trains the musical education in Ulm. With outstanding ensemble projects and an extensive event, the music school enjoys high public attention and offers a variety of possibilities to help shape the musical educational landscape of a large city. Payment is made by 14 TVöD.

Your tasks: strategic, artistic-pedagogical, organizational, human and economic direction of the music school of the city of Ulm Responsibility for budget and budget as well as acquisition, application and settlement of third-party funds Personnel management including service and specialist supervision, personnel requirements planning and personnel development Further development of the educational and structural offer as well as educational cooperations with daycare centres, schools and cultural institutions and cooperations in the urban group Responsibility for the organisation of transnational events and projects, in particular the regional competition “Youth musiziert” Representation and representation of the music school towards internal and external bodies, institutions, project partners and the Association of German Music Schools (VdM) Cooperation in local, regional and supra-regional bodies

Your profile: a completed musical education or artistic study at a music college, music academy or university proven basic business knowledge, as well as multiannual management/leading experience at a public music school (e.g. as a school director or Deputy Director*) and experience in the concert and event organization Completion of the VdM course “leading and conducting a music school” or the willingness to complete it if necessary Ability to develop strategic goals and concepts, implement them in a structured manner and actively promote the further development of the music school Experience in the management and development of employees as well as communication strength and negotiation skills Educational experience at a public or VdM Music School very good German knowledge in word and writing according to the language level C2
