As a primary digitization partner of the Bundeswehr, we provide stable, safe and efficient IT services in Germany and abroad, from basic operations to the field close to the application and thus contribute to the continuous increase in the leadership and operational capacity of the Bundeswehr. With more than 8,000 colleagues, we operate and modernise one of the largest and most complex IT infrastructures in Germany. We are looking for responsible IT specialists who are convinced that the Bundeswehr-IT will further develop in challenging digitalization projects and thus contribute to Germany's security.

The Terminal Services department provides central Citrix-based access and application platforms for the Bundeswehr and BWI own operation. The focus is on secure and reliable operation of business-critical IT services. The access infrastructure Virtual Apps and Desktop Platform (VADP) ensures access to the central backend procedures of the Bundeswehr and the BWI own operation. The collaboration is carried out in a DevOps-oriented model together with service management and architecture. The operation and further development of the service are coordinated and jointly responsible.

Your profile:

• Completed IT study or comparable training
• At least 3 years of professional experience in operation and the development of complex Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops environments
• Good knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory and Group Policy environment
• Knowledge of automation technologies (e.g. Ansible)
• Experience in IT service management and ideally an ITIL Foundation certification
• Citrix certifications (e.g. Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops) of advantage
• Impressed analytical skills as well as a structured, independent and solution-oriented way of working
• German language skills and good English skills

Your tasks:

• Take over technical responsibility for operating and developing complex Citrix Virtual Applications environments
• Analysis and sustainable improvement of complex disturbances in 2nd and 3rd level support and support in technical escalation
• Implementation and quality assurance of changes, releases and technical migrations
• Development and optimization of automation solutions and standardization of recurring operating processes
• Support in the technical development of the platforms
• technical evaluations, risk analysis to prepare technical concepts and architectural decisions
• Creation and continuous development of technical documentation and ensuring knowledge transfer within the team
• Participation in readiness and support in ensuring a high-availability operation
