For almost 40 years we have been working successfully in the sewage sludge sector. At our headquarters in Bottrop, we produce up to 280,000 tons of manufactured fuels from municipal and industrial sewage sludges and other approved types of waste for our own INNOVATHERM power plant in Lünen and for other thermal plants, thus ensuring safe and environmentally friendly treatment and disposal. As a 100% subsidiary of the Emschergenossenschaft, we also devote ourselves to the production and use of renewable energies. During the transition to climate-friendly power generation, wind energy is of outstanding importance. This is why we pursue wind energy projects as self-energy production projects and develop wind energy plants for general power supply with our subsidiary ELWEA in the catchment area of Emscher and Lippe. The possibility of using heat from the wastewater infrastructure of Emschergenossenschaft and Lippeverband also offers many potential. With these Aquathermie projects, buildings and entire quarters can be safely and resource-savingly supplied with heat and cold.
