Your main tasks:

› Independent research and development as part of the doctoral project "Green HPC: Energy-Aware Adaptive Job Scheduling for Sustainable Supercomputing". The place is suitable for scientific qualification (promotion).

› Conception, implementation and simulation-based evaluation of energy- and CO2-conscious adaptive scheduling stamina for heterogeneous high-performance computers using real workload profiles.

› Participation in joint research activities with national and international cooperation partners.

› Publication and presentation of research results at relevant international conferences, workshops and journals.

› Instruction and professional support of student assistants.

› Perception of teaching tasks in the scope of 3 SWS.

Your profile:

› Up to the appointment, an above-average university degree (master degree or equivalent university degree) of (applied) computer science is completed.

› Proven preparatory work on Green HPC, adaptives/malleables job scheduling, node power management or scheduler-integrated shutdown strategies, ideally documented by a relevant research or project module in this field.

› Practical experience with simulation-based and trace-driven evaluation of HPC scheduling strategies as well as very good programming knowledge in C/C++ and Python. Trusts with OpenMP, MPI, Linux-based HPC environments as well as scientific toolchain (Git, LaTeX, etc).

› Teaching experience in academic teaching (e.g. tutorials) as well as experience in collaboration with research projects are advantageous. Very good knowledge of English in word and writing as well as a pronounced ability to work independently, structured scientifically.
