Technical Assistant in Plant Ecology (m/f/d)

At the Chair of Plant Ecology, the Working Group on Functional and Tropical Plant Ecology at the University of Bayreuth on 01.01.2027 is a place as Technical Assistant (m/w/d) in Plant Ecology in full time (40,1000 hours/week).

Implementation, documentation and evaluation of ecological and physiological measurements according to established protocols using various measuring instruments Preparation of plant and soil samples for chemical and physical analyses Support for students and scientific employees in all the work in the laboratory, greenhouse or terrain Support for greenhouse and terrain work in the framework of research projects Support for the preparation and implementation of courses Self-organization of the workplace Acquisition of general tasks within the framework of the organisation of laboratory operations, e.g. maintenance and maintenance of measuring instruments, organisation of repairs/workshop, organization of purchase/orders, safety officer

Successful completion of vocational training as a Biological-Technical Assistant, Agricultural Technical Assistant (m/w/d) or a comparable qualification Experience with instrumental analysis methods General technical understanding and curiosity on testing methods (devices and experimental setups) Ideally you have experience with ecophysiological measurements and enjoy working with plants routine in handling digital tools and standard software Motivation and ability to perform field work reliably even under challenging conditions You are characterized by expertise and a dedicated, reliable and independent way of working You are team-ready, flexible and resilient and are happy to engage in the training of young people Good knowledge of German language in word and writing Good knowledge of English language for exchange in everyday laboratory and for understanding technical documentation Remuneration takes place according to personal qualification up to E 9b TV-L.
