Apprenticeship as a specialist for media and information services (FaMI) (m/f/d)

The Max Planck Institute for the Research of Multireligious and Multiethnic Societys in Göttingen is dedicated to the multidisciplinary research of diversity in historical and modern societies, in particular with regard to ethnic and religious processes and dynamics. Our special scientific library is the heart of the institute and supports its scientists through a wide range of needs-oriented service offerings around the research cycle.

A versatile and varied three-year dual training. This takes place in our Institutional Library and at the Multi Media Vocational Education and Training Schools (MMBbS) in Hannover. You are involved in daily work and gradually take on independent tasks. Through the close cooperation of our library with the information service providers of other Max Planck Institutes and the Max Planck Digital Library, you will learn about innovative library offers during your training. Participation in internships in other libraries and information institutions (if desired also abroad) completes your training. As an apprentice, you will become part of our open and cooperative library team and get to know all the important areas of work in a scientific library, including: Participation in the remote service and in digitalization Support, advise and inform researchers Manage and maintain library inventory Support for events Implementation of projects

You have a very good degree in real education or the general university or professional qualification with good services in the subjects German and English. You are inspiring for dealing with the medium book and with electronic media. You like to work with people, learn new things and perform service-oriented. You work actively, carefully and reliably and are also physically resilient.

An attractive training allowance according to the collective agreement for trainees of the public service (TVAöD). In the first year of training starting at €1,368.26, you will receive €1,418.20 in the second year of training and €1,464.02 in the third year of training and one year of special payment. A versatile and varied training with high practical relevance through active cooperation. 30 days holiday at a 5-day week and additional release with salary of Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
