The neonatology at the Perinatal Center is part of the parent-child centre (ELKI) at the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein, Campus Kiel. Early and ill newborns are treated at station C.218. The newly established neonatology in 2019 has 18 beds, including 10 neonatological intensive treatment sites (Level 1). The interdisciplinary team consists of specialized nursing staff, nurses, therapists, psychosocial parent counselling, nursing and lactation counselling as well as other disciplines such as e.g. child cardiology, child surgery, child eurology, neurosurgery and nephrology.
