battery-direct is an owner-operated company with a dynamic working culture. For over 20 years we have been developing and producing battery systems with different cell technologies. With battery packs for USV systems, we are among the leading companies in Germany, our products are distributed throughout Europe.

Our most sophisticated product is the “Snettbox”, a lithium battery system. The special thing about this: A DC converter is integrated in a housing together with the battery pack and BMS in order to enable properties that otherwise do not exist in this form on the market.

The wide range of applications of this system opens up very different markets: DC-USV, replacement of lead and gel batteries in industrial applications as well as customer-specific projects in the governmental and defense environment. These requirements require continuous adaptation and integration of the Snettbox and form the basis for a future-oriented development. Development and production are combined in a 2,500 m2 new building under one roof.

Your role As Senior Development Engineer Elektronik & Batteriesysteme for the Snettbox, you will meet the technical decisions for all hardware inspections in a small, interdisciplinary team that will ensure a solid continuation and/or New development is necessary. Your experience in the circuit design brings you into the design of power electronics, the definition of the cell pack including BMS, and the interaction with the firmware of the system. Validation and certification in the corresponding laboratories is just as part of the role as the concept of integration in the target system. You will be supported by experienced colleagues who take over the unbundling of the circuit (Layout), the programming of the firmware and the coordination of the project. In addition, you are the technical contact person of the management: customer requirements and technical feasibility come together directly over several levels without detour. The desire to actively shape the products of tomorrow is absolutely desired.

Adaptation and optimization of the current battery system deriving customer requirements in technical specifications for the further development of the Snettbox; Implementation of new circuit designs Validation and testing of hardware Certifications according to current standards (including EMC / ECE R10, IEC 62619) Concepts for connecting the Snettbox in customer-specific applications (e.g. CAN bus interfaces) Technical coordination with management, production and sales

Complete study of electrical engineering (Dipl.-Ing. / M.Sc.) or comparable qualification Multiannual experience in design and evaluation of electronic circuits Experience with power electronics (e.g. DC/DC converter) Experience in handling Li-ion battery systems and BMS Understanding embedded software as part of hardware Experience with CAN bus or comparable industrial bus systems The ability to explain technical facts to non-electrotechists Remarkable: Experience with various current cell chemicals such as NMC or LFP Experience in the technical management of development projects
