The Veterinary and Food Monitoring Office is responsible for the tasks of veterinary services and consumer protection. The fields of action include animal health control and animal welfare, animal by-products, veterinary and feed monitoring, food, cosmetics and supplies monitoring and tobacco products.

The district house is located in Viersen, however, in all cities and municipalities of the district of Viersen.

The field of responsibility shall cover the entire veterinary service with the focus on food, feed and veterinary inspection, as well as on the field of veterinary and meat inspection. This includes: Arrangements of measures Certification of consignments sampling and evaluation of sample results Preparation of expert opinions Implementation of the veterinary and meat investigation in craft holdings and the competent assessment of compliance with the rules of adjacent veterinary and food surveillance

PhD in Veterinary Medicine and Approbation as Veterinary / Veterinary (w/m/d) Career training for the veterinary service (of advantage) Willingness to participate in the Department of Veterinary Service (if there is no career qualification) Knowledge/experience in food monitoring (of advantage) Teamability, information and communication skills Organisational competence and operational readiness Conflictability and Loadability Flexible work readiness even outside normal service hours Responsibility/readiness Decision/transposition capacity driving licence class B Willingness to participate in the changing standby service
