Who we are

The Department of Dependency Diseases includes a specialist outpatient as well as the stations 41 to 44 on the grounds of the LVR Clinic Cologne. The stations offer a qualified acute treatment (detoxification or withdrawal treatment) of alcohol-, drug- and drug-dependent women and men between 18 and 70 years. In addition, patients suffering from a comorbidity of dependency and other mental disorders are treated. A specialized treatment offer according to the concept of schema therapy is provided for people who suffer from a Borderline Personality Disorder (BPS) associated with a search drug problem. The treatment offer currently includes 78 fully-stationary and five day-clinical places.

LVR-Klinik Köln is a specialist hospital for psychiatry and psychotherapy with two departments for psychiatry and psychotherapy, a Department for Gerontopsychiatry, a Department of Dependency Diseases, a Department of Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotraumatology and two Departments for Forensic Psychiatry. The supply order includes about 600,000 Cologne citizens. In addition to the main location in Cologne-Merheim, there are Dependances with daily clinical and outpatient offers in three other districts on the right and left Rhine.
