Expert for the hydrological modelling of Germany: Conception of the technical work and the necessary tools and research projects for the required collection and description of the water balance Investigations of natural and anthropogenic changes in the elements of the water cycle, in particular the drainage behaviour and the water levels of the federal waterways, e.g. as a result of changes in climate, land use or water-economic measures (actual state and projection of future scenarios) Selection, development, installation, maintenance and application of river basin and water balance models – analysis, parameterization, calibration and validation, implementation of long-term simulations Detection of area- and water-related hydrologic parameters and sizes using geo- and remote sensing data Regular production of water and drain balances for river areas and the federal territory Documentation and evaluation of hydrological extreme events Development of services for the preparation, evaluation, visualization and provision of hydrometeorological and hydrologic data Cooperation in relevant national and international working groups and coordination and consultation of federal and state ministries and their respective subordinate areas, in particular on the federal water-related strategies. You should bring this with you: Complete university studies (uni‐diplom/master) of natural, engineering or geosciences with well-founded knowledge and experience in the water industry, hydrological data analysis and numerical modelling of the water balance (e.g. hydrology or water engineering or comparable discipline) This distinguishes you: Comprehensive knowledge of the hydrology of Germany Comprehensive knowledge of hydrological statistics Comprehensive knowledge of the design and application of hydrological models Experience in programming for the automation of data processing processes (e.g. R and/or Python) Professional and personal leadership skills Networking in the hydrological specialist community Experience in cooperation in specialist bodies of the Federal and/or of the Länder Ability to target group-oriented documentation and presentation of work results Fun at work in an interdisciplinary team Good communication and conflictability Very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing Ready for multi-day missions

Remuneration is made according to TVöD Group E14. We also offer you additional services after the TVöD-Bund.
