IT-System Engineer – Learning Management Systems & Infrastructure (m/w/d) Location: Mainz | Position: Full time, unlimited

In this role in our Professional Services department, you are responsible for the technical provision and maintenance of learning management systems (LMS). You combine deep operating system know-how with the ability to accurately capture complex customer requirements. Implementation: Installation and configuration of learning management software (e.g. iServ, MNS Pro, or comparable open source solutions) in customer environments and integration in network structures. Infrastructure Management: Administration and backup of the underlying server landscapes especially in Linux and Windows environments. Lifecycle Management: Advising our customers for necessary system upgrades as well as the independent planning and implementation of these updates. Consulting: Inclusion of technical requirements and consultation of educational institutions with regard to performance optimization and scalability of the platforms. Error analysis: Technical support in the context of escalations and troubleshooting in complex system disorders.

You are a technician who has no fear of touch in different worlds (Open Source vs. Microsoft) and creates solutions that work in practice. Technical & formal requirements: Language skills: You have very good knowledge of German in word and writing (C1/C2 level) in order to understand complex requirements without errors and to be able to reproduce them in writing professionally. Mobility: You have a valid passenger ticket and willingness to implement the projects with our customers on site. Operating systems: You have sound knowledge in the administration of Linux (e.g. Debian, Ubuntu) and in current Windows Server environments. Education: You have a successfully completed IT-oriented training or a comparable study with relevant professional experience. Learning software: Ideally, you have experience with LMS platforms or the ambition to work quickly into this specialized software. Soft skills & personality: Analytical understanding: You listen carefully, meet the needs of the customer and implement them in clean technical concepts. Own responsibility: Your customer visits and projects are structured independently. Macher mentality: You are not only advising, but you are also implementing the solutions in a technical manner.
