Senior Design Engineer Automotive – Assembly Development (m/f/d)

Development and construction of switching and operating elements as well as HMI components (e.g., probe modules, rotary actuator, operating panel) including creation of 3D models and drawings with CATIA V5 in the area of plastic Technical initial assessment of customer requirements as well as derivation and structuring in load/voltage specifications (Requirements Handling) elaboration of technical concepts taking into account haptics, acoustics, ergonomics and installation space as well as preparation of appropriate presentations Analysis, documentation and reporting within the project phases up to series maturity Implementation of functional calculations, tolerance analyses and simulations to validate the constructions Planning and implementation of design reviews as well as presentation of results before internal specialist departments, customers and suppliers Support in the creation of tool drawings in consultation with colleagues from CN, taking into account the design of plastics Participation in multi-party cubic meetings as well as colour matching meetings in the interior environment Support in error analysis and root assessment of complainted serial products Reverse engineering for competitive analysis or product optimization Continuous optimization of existing constructions with regard to function, cost, weight, haptics and feasibility (DFM/DFA) Use of 3D printing to produce functional patterns, devices, after-sales parts and RFQ patterns

Graduate in mechanical engineering, vehicle engineering, mechatronics or further education for technicians (m/w/d) At least 3 years of experience in the development of interior components, ideally switching and operating elements, probe modules, rotary actuators or control panels Very good knowledge of CATIA V5, in particular in the plastic-friendly design (spindle casting, snap hooks, locking mechanisms, guides, tolerance chains) Experience in the development of complete interior assemblies including mechanical interfaces to electronics (PCB, light guides, HMI components) Know-how in terms of haptics, operating forces, acoustics (click/noise), surface requirements and Class-A environment Understanding tool-friendly design and coordination with tool construction and suppliers (e.g. China interface) Experience with automotive development processes (e.g. APQP, FMEA, change management) Enforcement strength, sense of responsibility and safe occurrence in the customer environment Good MS Office knowledge Readiness to travel Very good knowledge of German (C1) and good knowledge of English
