Thesis Big Data & AI: Multimodal AI for 3D Modeling of Industrial Parts (m/f/d)

Computer Vision: You recognize and approve 3D models of products based on images and using existing technologies in the department. For this, you use proven methods of image processing. In addition, you will explore and develop new ways to embed the products in 3D environments you render yourself. Integration of multimodal data sources: You combine visual, geometric and contextual information - e.g. technical specifications, drawings or texts - for automated model generation and refinement. In doing so, you can refer to the programmatic use of software, such as Blender. alignment with existing CAD standards: You ensure that the models produced are compatible with standard CAD guidelines and can be integrated into industrial design and manufacturing processes. Front-end development: use of RAG models to dynamically retrieve relevant product information from large databases and to integrate it into dialogue. Front-end: You develop a simple frontend to make the results of your work tangible and experienceable. Development on AWS: You use Amazon Web Services (AWS) to deploy your POC and orchestrate the different processing steps.

Master's degree in an STEM area: Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or comparable degree programmes (biochemistry, economics, empirical social research). Programming skills in Python, SQL and, if necessary, another language. knowledge and experience with Amazon Web Services; Experiences on GCP and Databricks are a plus. First knowledge of software development is a plus. Experience with common machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Transformers, PEFT, FAISS, OpenCV). Higher knowledge of English (C1) and good knowledge of German in word and writing.

Your mission is rewarded. For a mandatory internship, you can expect 1,400 € gross per month. If you do a voluntary internship for four months or longer or write your thesis with us, you will receive €2.262 gross per month.
