Number: MER00046YC In Group Research & Mercedes-Benz Cars Development (RD), we design the automotive generations of the future. We mean innovative products with the highest quality and efficient development processes. We are already working on vehicles that will secure the technology leadership of Mercedes-Benz in the future. The line set is one of the most complex systems of a motor vehicle with several kilometers of lines. Due to increasing requirements of data customers and product safety, insights in the various development phases of a vehicle are expected to flow into the product and related products more quickly, automatically and reliably. In the DMU & Tools team, we focus on the design and further development of the CAD-based development tools for the line set in the vehicle, which includes, in addition to the classic design tools, collaboration via xR tools as well as digital backup by simulations. As part of the digital transformation, we also deal with data-based decision bases and build these successively. These challenges come to you, among others, and can be actively helped by you: Processing into the line set environment, specific data formats (e.g. KBL and other XML formats), the development process and the existing tool chain Implementation and further development of existing concepts for improving processes in line set development in Python or other programming languages Self-preparing problems and developing visualization concepts and automated solutions Validation of results with test data and in cooperation with the line set developers Documentation and presentation of results The work student activity can start from October 2026.
