METRO LOGISTICS operates eight multi-user logistics centers at geo-optimal nodes in Germany with a storage area of around 500,000 m2. The warehouse and distribution logistics services are aimed at various industries, including food logistics with all temperature zones. In addition, METRO LOGISTICS controls the transport management for various trading companies. Various value added services and consulting services complement the performance portfolio. METRO LOGISTICS currently employs around 1,500 employees. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of METRO AG. To support our team in the logistics center in Marl, we are now looking for a group leader transport disposition.

Leading transport disposition and responsibility for smooth transport processing Leadership of professional drivers at the Marl site and permanent review of cost-optimal deployment planning Permanent coordination with other fleet areas for optimising logistical processes Responsible for the tactical transport planning (load formation, selection of optimal tours, testing of transport options) and freight cost optimization Participation in operational transport planning and transport disposition (load formation, selection of optimal tours, testing of transport options) Monitoring of transport allocation and proactive adaptation of operational transport planning to avoid disruption Capacity agreement with the linked transport service providers Separation of incidents and complaints in transport processing

Training with focus on transport and/or logistics Multiannual professional experience in a comparable senior function with personnel responsibility Funded operational process knowledge in operational transport processing Experience in transport disposition ideally in trade Experience and safe handling of transport management systems Very good German and specialist knowledge of English in word and writing Good communication skills with customers, transport service providers and internal interfaces (e.g. goods outlet) Embossed customer and service orientation Cooperative and solution-oriented basic setting Cost-conscious thinking and action in particular in relation to transport costs
