These are your tasks:
Cooperation in research:
- Scientific cooperation in a third-party funded project to investigate the cellular and molecular mechanisms of action of the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Therapy (NMRT)
- Planning and implementation of standardized sham-controlled NMRT expositions in C. elegans, including wild-type tattoos, a Shock-Wave-Neurotrauma model and defined stress and proteotoxicity models (including α-Synuclein)
- Functional and structural phenotyping by means of motility, life, development and reproduction assays and fluorescence microscopic analysis of the extracellular matrix
- Mechanical analysis of mitochondrial function and preserved stress response pathways using genetic and RNAi-based approaches, mitochondrial reporters, stress reporters, and COX activity measurements as well as quantitative data evaluation
- Supplementary analyses in human cell culture models
- Depending on the project progress, gene expression analyses are also provided.
You are:
- Master in Biosciences, a preferred focus in molecular biology or neurosciences with very good degree programs
- Finded practical experience in working with the model organism C. elegans, in particular with transgenic C. elegans models of proteotoxicity, such as α-synuclein, and with RNAi Screens
- Very good knowledge of fluorescence microscopy, as well as experience in quantitative phenotype and image evaluation
- experience in statistical data evaluation and data visualization; Interest in in interdisciplinary biophysical questions and readiness to be incorporated into additional methods, e.g. cell culture
- Very good English knowledge in word and writing as well as an independent, careful and team-oriented way of working
