Operational Manager / Shift Manager – Terminal Management / Ship Handling (m/f/d)

The EUROGATE Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven is Germany's only deep water container terminal. The world's largest ships can start the port at any time regardless of the tide and tide. As a “Common user” terminal, it is available to all shipping companies worldwide. Overall, the terminal in Wilhelmshaven, which was commissioned in 2012, is a modern facility that offers shipping customers a high-quality service with productive processes in ship handling. The hinterland is connected via road and rail directly to the terminal, which is continuously expanded. The terminal develops very positively and offers all shipowners a short route and maximum flexibility. For our container terminal in Wilhelmshaven we are looking for a:n Operative:n Head:in / Shift Manager at the next time.

You are responsible for all water- and land-side terminal activities during your shift and ensure that targets and ship processing times are met. As supervisors: you are actively going forward and are able to motivate your team to the best. The port is dynamically and quickly accessible: you always keep an overview, give orientation, set priorities and find quick and pragmatic solutions. As an interface between operating management, customers and employees, you plan the efficient use of all resources (e.g. personnel, devices, areas and berths) and coordinate the implementation in operational operation. You know the operational and legal regulations in the areas of occupational safety and ISPS and ensure compliance. Continuously, you will also participate in improving the operational process processes and bring you into project and special tasks.

Maritime or logistical studies (shipping, shipping management, harbour management) or vocational training, preferably with additional qualification such as specialist:in for freight transport and logistics, logistics master:in or harbour master:in Multiannual management experience in the operating environment – like port, envelope or shipping Leadership competence and communication and enforcement strength An exceptional design will and the ability to implement changes proactively Hands-on mentality and a self-responsible operation Very good knowledge of German and English Ready to work in a fully continuous layer system
