Apprenticeship – Industrial Mechanic for Maintenance (m/w/d) 2025

The Wahnbachtalsperrenverband (WTV) supplies drinking water for about 800,000 people in the Bonn/Rhein-Sieg/Ahr region. Around 230 specialized employees, including trainees from different professional groups, are active in water production, drinking water processing and distribution as well as in other interesting professional fields. In the team we work every day on our most important goal of providing our customers with high-quality and affordable drinking water.

From August 2025 we are looking for three apprentices as an industrial mechanic for maintenance for our location in Siegburg.

In your three and a half year training, you are fully involved in our daily business. Industrial mechanics produce parts and assemblies for machines and production plants, align them or rebuild them, monitor and optimize manufacturing processes and take over repair tasks. What this means and what it takes to do is learn from us from the beginning – as a fully integrated team member.

After your school degree (primary school, middle maturity or comparable) we will make you fit for your career. Practical training takes place in the facilities and workshops of the Wahnbachtalsperrenverband. You will visit the Carl-Reuther-Berufskolleg of the Rhein-Sieg-Kreise in Hennef until twice a week. In addition, you will also take part in over-company courses of the IHK continuing education company in order to learn all necessary skills professionally. In training, we focus on the personal promotion of each individual trainee. You carry out repair work on pumps and pipes of drinking water supply with different machines. For this you learn how to read and create technical documents. The individual steps are then planned and carried out by you. Metal processing in any shape: measuring, tearing, testing, bending, straightening, brazing, scissors, taxes, screws, wedges, welding – all these things are your help. During commissioning and maintenance of machines, devices and systems, you can bring your craftsmanship to your team. After training you know everything about pneumatic, electropneumatic and hydraulic work. The creation of simple CNC programs and the production of simple workpieces on CNC-controlled machine tools complete this varied job.

We require a successful school degree (at least primary school). You're curious about how to edit metal. For you, the joy of craft activities is at the forefront. And also spatial imagination is not a problem for you. You have a good understanding for reading and creating technical documents. Planning and organizing work steps are also fun. You bring good basic knowledge in mathematics and physics. Teamability, reliability and physical mobility complete your profile.

You can also shorten your training with good performance. And if you choose your final exam with “very good” or “good”, you will receive an extra fee for your great performance. We will pay for you in an occupational pension scheme at the Rheinische Nachversorgungskasse (RZVK). Your working time is recorded electronically on a working time account.
