The Department of Mathematics, together with the Departments of Biology, Chemistry and Physics, forms the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at RWTH Aachen. A personality with an interest in excellent teaching is sought, which the Department of Mathematics supports in the coordination and implementation of the mathematical training of students, in particular for service courses in mechanical engineering. The activities include the organisation and implementation of the regular study success controls of the students, the participation in the design and implementation of courses, in particular in the field of mechanical engineering, coordination, creation and maintenance of the Dynexite task pool, as well as other administrative tasks such as the cooperation with the specialist consulting of mechanical engineering or the scheduling in the campus management systems of RWTH Aachen. The teaching deputy is 12 semester hours. In order to ensure the quality of mathematics training at RWTH Aachen in the long term, a continuous development of the teaching methods is necessary. These include the development of new digital approaches and concepts to promote the success of studies, especially in the first semesters. Participation in these activities is also part of the activity profile. In addition, participation in the diverse research activities of the Chair of Analysis and its applications is very welcome.

Your profile Settings are a completed academic degree (master or comparable) and doctorate in a course of mathematics. Including experience with the implementation and organisation of university teaching in mathematics (especially with large groups and service events for other subjects), very good knowledge of German and English language in word and writing, knowledge of legal and technical frameworks, and familiarity with the structures and administrative processes at a German university. Experience in the creation of digital learning materials is also desired. In addition, expected:

The employment is in the employment relationship. The place shall be occupied at the next possible time and shall be permanent. It is a full-time job.
