The Network and Infrastructure department is responsible for the construction, operation and continuous development of IT infrastructure as well as IT services at around 220 sorting and operating technology locations in Germany. With the growth and progressive digitization, the tasks and the range of services of the team are also continuously expanding. The aim is to provide a modern, stable and efficient infrastructure while implementing new technologies and optimizations.

As an IT system engineer, you support the construction, operation and further development of complex IT infrastructures and actively participate in the implementation of projects up to rollout.

Your tasks: Structure and administration of complex server systems and virtualization environments (VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter) in the production environment Operation, administration and disorder of storage systems (SAN / NAS / iSCSI / Fibre Channel) as well as the VMware infrastructure Implementation and development of secure IT solutions in coordination with IT security Working with the technical coordination of external service providers in the context of projects and operational tasks Definition and maintenance of interfaces to adjacent platforms, processes and tools Implementation of system analyses and performance optimizations for a stable and secure IT operation Creation and maintenance of technical documentation, operating concepts and safety and risk assessments within the ISMS Working in the Incident, Problem and Change Management Process

Your profile: Complete training as a computer scientist for system integration or a state-tested technician (m/w/d) with a focus on IT system technology, network technology or comparable study of (economic) informatics, information technology or comparable specialist writing - with relevant practical experience in the operation of complex IT infrastructure. More than 3 years of relevant experience in operation and further development of server and virtualization infrastructures, including backup systems Good knowledge of VMware vSphere / ESXi / vCenter as well as in storage (SAN/NAS/iSCSI) and backup/recovery systems Standing for occasional missions Secure knowledge of German in word and writing (C1 level) and good English skills
