Music Educator Voice Training (m/f/d)

We are looking at the next time for the Kulturamt, Thomanerchor Leipzig, a musician (m/w/d). With more than 800 years of history, the Thomanerchor Leipzig is the oldest cultural institution in the city of Leipzig. The goal and mission of the choir, which consists of about 100 young singers from the ages of 9 to 19 years, is the care of the mostly spiritual choir music in the Thomaskirche and at concerts in the world. The Thomaners live in the Thomasalumnat, receive their diverse musical training here and are accompanied by a team of motivated educators and employees in the administration during their musical, school and general everyday life to the abitur.

This is expected

• Teaching in singing and vocal formation with the participation of knowledge in hearing education and music theory in close coordination with the Thomaskantor
• if necessary preparatory training
• preparation of young talents of class 1 and 2 for the qualifying examination in preparation class 3 of the Thomanerchor and the admission examination for the Thomanerchor
• Preparation of Thomans for half-year examinations and participation in them
• annual, written assessment of the performance of the Thomaners
• Acquisition of partial choir samples according to the requirements of choir operation and accompaniment of thomans in solo performances

This will bring you

• Higher education in the field of singing or singing education
• at least two years of experience in singing education
• relevant professional experience in child-friendly voice education and choral work
• good knowledge of the piano game or the correctness
• good knowledge of elementary music education
• educational skills in dealing with children and adolescents
• empathy and enforcement skills as well as problem and conflict resolution competence
• vaccination or medically proven immunity to measles

We offer

• an indefinite job evaluated according to the pay group 10 TVöD in parttime with a weekly working time of 15 hours, whereby the working hours must be completed between 13 and 7 p.m.
• an annual entry fee between EUR 53,000 and EUR 61,611 gross in accordance with the assessment by category 10 TVöD (values correspond to the exercise of the place in full time including the annual special payment)
