Senior Network Security Engineer (m/f/d)

Palo Alto Deep Dive: You take the technical responsibility for the planning, design and implementation of sophisticated security and firewall projects focusing on Palo Alto technologies (e.g. Strata, Prisma, Panorama). In doing so, you can use your expert knowledge in a targeted, optimised environment and ensure that security solutions are implemented efficiently, scalable and sustainable. Architecture & Design: You develop and implement modern network and security architectures, such as segmentation (e.g. microsegmentation) or zero-trust concepts. In doing so, you analyze existing infrastructures, identify optimization potentials and transfer them to powerful next generation environments taking into account current security standards and best practices. Hands-on Troubleshooting: You analyze complex network, security and routing topics up to detail and are able to identify and troubleshoot them in a structured manner. Your well-founded knowledge allows you to quickly limit causes and implement stable, performant solutions. Teamwork & Presales: You work closely with internal network, infrastructure and security teams and support knowledge sharing within the company. In addition, you will introduce your technical expertise in presales activities, advise customers at eye level and develop tailor-made, technically sound solutions together with sales.

Education & experience: You have a degree in IT security, computer science or a comparable qualification or equivalent practical experience. Your solid technical foundation in the network and security environment is crucial. In addition, you bring at least five years of well-founded hands-on experience in routing, switching and firewalling and have ideally already worked with complex infrastructures as well as modern security architectures. First experiences with Prisma products or in technical presets are a plus. Palo Alto Expertise: You have deep practical experience in handling Palo Alto firewalls and are safe in their configuration, operation and optimization. Ideally, you have also worked with a panoramic view of central administration, bringing knowledge to Prisma Access, SASE or comparable cloud-based security solutions. Certifications & Cloud Knowledge: Ideally, you have certifications such as PCNSE or PCNSA or are striving for them in a timely manner. In addition, you have gained first practical experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS or Google Cloud and understand their importance in the context of modern security architectures. Working & Communication: You work independently, structured and with high quality standards. Complex challenges are analytic and solution-oriented, and you keep an overview even in challenging situations. You can convince by professional appearance as well as your service-oriented collaboration with customers and internal teams. Very good knowledge of German and English as well as a class B licence complete your profile.
